I believe in bodybuilding terms - it's commonly called the 'bulking phase'. For me it's more difficult than losing weight. I started at 180lbs, lost 22lbs in 12 weeks and then started bulking to a goal of 190lbs. Unfortunately, I did not reach that goal and only reached 180lbs again. Articles posted at the top of the thread are really informative.

what's your height? I'm 5'5" and I jumped from 155 to 178 lbs with around 10% body fat with a diet of at least 1gram (up to 1.5) protein per pound BW and 2-3grams carbs per pound BW (which i cycle). I also cut down my workout to training each bodypart just once a week (I used to train each part 2x a week) and doing 30-45minutes of lifting per training day (I used to do up to 1.5 hours). I also put more emphasis now on my breakfast, pre- and post-workout meals. This strategy worked for me.

since this tread is about bulking.


What I do is lift heavy doing the basic exercises.



  • I used 40g of Creatine for my loading day (that's Monday to friday - no saturday and sunday) Maintenance dose is 5g 5/week
  • 2 tabs of tribulus t. (one hour b4 workout and 1 tab b4 sleeping)
  • 1 tab of androstenedione b4 workout.
  • Result is great. I Gained 8 pounds in just 3 weeks.

I never exceeded 1 hour in my trainning.


I do cardio 3Xweek (30mins only)


I always get plenty of sleep.

180lbs is pretty impressive. what's your height?

I'm 5'10". Thanks kaya lang 180 is my end-of-bulking weight. Hindi puro laman yun Right now I'm hovering around 162 - 165, and still dont have the elusive midsection ripples

Agree 100% theveed. That's why I laugh inside whenever I hear someone says 'ayaw kong lumaki ng ganyan' - pointing to a pro bodybuilder picture. Bakit? sigurado ba silang kaya nila magpalaki ng ganun? Daming pagkain and supplements nun! heh he.

You're quite bulky theveed,ako 5ft.8inches pero mga 152 lbs lang.Mahirap talagang lumaki pag ectomorph.Joke nga sa gym sa mga ectomorphs,dapat nakadextrose lagi maski nagwoworkout

Nah, not enough hehe... Siguro I physically have a big head relative to my shoulders. Tapos my upper body is long pa so I wanna get much bigger... Target ko after 2-3 bulk cycles, I maintain a 170 range with 10-15% BF siguro, right now I'm at 18%++

Mag meameasure ako BF this weekend.

I've always been heavy, kahit nung payat ako, bones and internal organs ko siguro mabigat... Lugi dati sa karate, I always have to compete against adults when I was still 16 or so... Nasa 150 na ako nun...

Sir theveed, halos pareho pala tyo bf%. Right now I'm 17% @ 186lbs. my height is 5'9". Hirap mag tanggal ng BF. (sarap kasi kumain e)

sabi sa mercury drug na sensors, 15% bf daw ako tapos 142.5lbs, 5'8... sana tumangkad pa ako...
