Mondays - Workout A Shoulders Traps Triceps Biceps Abs
Thursdays - Workout B Lower Back Chest Upper Back Legs Calves
Each Workout session will be performed for approx. 25-50secs.
After 3 weeks, the frequency of training will be decreased to once every 10 days. Two months later, Frequency of Training is every four weeks.
Before this SCT, I was training with Max-OT program. I gained half an inch on my biceps, 3/4" on my chest, added15lbs on my bench press within a month.
Parang mali ata ah, 25-50 seconds for the whole workout?
Mag SCT rin ako after my Cliffhanger (30 days) and rest period (2 weeks).-- Edited by theveed at 13:25, 2004-12-08"
YES. You heard it right theveed 25-50secs eash session doing 5 different exercises. FYI, SCT is not just rest periods, may technique din on how to lift. The program claims that subjects are able to bench press 25-100% more than their last regular benchpress program. each body part is performed in 10 secs. theveed, remember when you hold the weights 10secs on your strongest range? That my friend, could be the only set/rep that actually stimulates your muscle fiber and not the up and down motion. Incorporate that to heavy weights and you have yourself an SCT routine.
theveed, yung nabasa mong article sa askmen.com is just the small tip of the iceberg regarding SCT. The askmen.com article didnt go thru the whole regimen and techniques and which exercise is the most effective without spending sooo much time in the gym. Im sure you know that Pete Sisco is a mathematician who incorporated bodybuilding with Math. SCT is another form of HIT without overtraining. As I've said long ago, overtraining is achieved in two different ways. Overtraining by repetitions and sets, and overtraining with INTENSITY. Overtraining with reps and sets as we all know, is not good.
van_wilder, mas mabuti kung hindi ka pa advanced kse advanced bodybuilders tend to stay away from this SCT routine kse you wont be spending too much time on the gym. You know how GYM RATS are, they want to hit the gym 5-7 times a week. Pete Sisco who developed this program hates spending too much time to the gym. This is why he came up with this program. The concept is nothing new but gym clubs ang training personnel do not want to share this. Why? Kse mawawalan na sila ng business kung once every 2 months na lang ang punta ng mga member.
I wont share the entire program as of yet. I'll have to see if this works talaga. On the other hand, keep performing your own program and see which or who makes the most progress in less time.
Hehe, that's interesting... I dont think I can do that since my cardiovascular endurance isn't that good... Ang plan ko when I do SCT the workout will be around 2mins max. I'm only doing this for strength purposes actually. I'm cycling my workouts from strength and hypertrophy every 2-3 months.
Post your results and experiences then, it'll be great to have first hand experience. A lot of BB boards don't believe in the Sisco technique (maybe because Sisco himself isn't exactly "big") but like we always say, you'll never know if something works until you try it.
theveed, trust me, you dont need much endurance, baka nga mabitin ka pa
most GYM RATS uses the PFT technique before the SCT. Sa PFT kse, you do 1-3 sets per exercise of 15-25 reps on your 'strongest range'.* This way, slowly masasanay na madalang lang ang dalaw nila sa GYM at hindi sila ma-shock na bihira na lang sila sa gym.
*Stongest range in bench press means you lower the bar 4-6 inches from top. Parang half-rep lang to, but you do it on top with no locking.
i have pete sisco's e-book courtesy of p2p. I've tried it within 3 months but then it was boring. I started the training by not training within 6 weeks (as pete said). Then I did training A and B every 5 days, then 7, then 9. In between workouts, I do the treadmill for at least an hour/day @ 6km/hour. But then I stopped the routine for I didn't gain a lot. In fact I even lost fat and MUSCLE. I know that the testimonials were true but I know I did what he said. Of course in Static Contraction Training (SCT), you will be stronger cause you will only be using your strongest range of motion. You will be shocked when you can lift 100-300% more than you can normally do using full range of motion. Now, I went back to my old routine doing super reps. Now I have gained back the muscles I lost. I know this contradicts to the testimonials of the SCT but it is only subjective.
*by the way, you don't have to lower 4-6". Add more weight (lets say 20%) and then lower the bar 1-2" (Bench press). =)

That's a common testimonial to Sisco's program if I search on Amazon or something like that. I do have my doubts as well regarding the program but I have to give it a try, everybody's different anyway and I'd like to cycle my program between bodybuilding and powerlifting sometimes since I love to do squats, deads and hopefully, bench as well.
If it's OK, can you send me a copy of the book my email is davidleetong@gmail.com Thank you very much in advance.

Alam naman natin na if you dont lift heavy, minimal ang progress or you hit the plateau. Pero kung derechong pampalakas lang naman, PFT na agad ang training kahit wag na SCT.
In my own experience, doing the SCT would really increase your strength (psychologically). It works like this. If you can do 8 reps of 200 lbs (bench) on your last set, you can probably do a Static Contraction with 280-400 lbs. This is because you are using your strongest range of motion. Now, as I have experienced, I have added weights until I can do a 400 pound static contraction for 10 sec. After which, I decided to go back to my regular training (With enough rest prescribed by pete sisco). When trying to do a regular bench press, (thinking that I am way much stronger than I was before) I thought I could hoist heavier weights but on my dismay, I couldn't. In fact, my last set of 8 reps on the bench went down from 200 to 160. BADTRIP! My leg press stayed the same though. Well, this is only subjective. I'm just saying my part of the story in contrary to the claims of the foreign users of this program. Of course I started to do this program for the promising benifits and muscle/strength gains.
Btw, I don't have the copy of the program now. I gave the disc to a friend. If I can get a hold of it, you'll know (ipopost ko lang).
PS. I do the treadmill in between workouts! It really helps in lowering down your body fat and toning your body. Gumanda lalo ang abs ko. ehehehe
