RE: Designer Whey

I'm a newcomer to this site, just glad to be a part of this forum.Since we all agree that "whey" is the way to go,what "brands" are ,in your opinion, truly effective?I've tried Universal,Designer,Optimum and I'm planning to get Nitrotech. So far,Optimum has been ok and is reasonably priced.I read alot about Nitrotech(most people really think this is the best brand)but also read an article about it being a mixture of so many things.Of course these companies will deny everything just to earn a buck.

Nothing more than hyped up misuse and stupidity of the user. You can die taking too much aspirin and drinking too much coffee as well if the person wants to.

As far as Optimum is concerned.I can share a few infos about it.I have been using it for over a month and I'm satisfied with it.It has 23 grams of protein per scoop.

I believe there are three flavors to choose from:chocolate, vanilla and strawberry(is there one?).

Price wise it is reasonably priced.I bought mine for 2300php for the 5 pounder.I tried it because it is one, if not the best selling whey protein supplement out in the market(based on a certain website).

Sorry I don't have the name of the website at the moment but I will be posting it as soon as possible.I believe that this website is not biased because it listed the top five whey supplements in the market.Just curious about Nitro tech for the moment. But since Nitrotech is too expensive, after trying a container(just to satisfy my curiosity),I will be using Optimum whey again.

*Note* Please use proper spacing and line breaks for easier reading. Thanks.

I'm an ON user as well. Where did you get your ON btw? That's kinda cheap.

There are Cookies and Cream (super bad taste daw), Choco Mint flavors as well.

It is the best selling one in bodybuilding.com I think a lot of people in ABC and other boards use it as well.

muntik na akong mamatay dahil sa coffee... since hindi ako marunong magtimpla, ginawa ko is three full spoons ng coffee per cup... tapos 5am na hindi pa ako makatulog. around 7pm i could already feel my blood, naubusan ako ng oxygen ata, kasi nafeel ko yun blood ko sa veins tapos nagpapalpitate ako at nagsusuka... tapos hindi ako makakain... dinala ako sa heart center... tapos nalaman nila too much caffeine... nagulat sila kung paano ito nangyari, tapos they asked me kung uminom ako ng coffee, i said yes pero 2 cups lang... tapos nagtataka sila then sinabi ko kung paano ko tinimpla... ayun mali pala...

Ako dati sa office, yung coffee maker namin di namin minemeasure, we put around 5-6 scoops of coffee (na matapang) to around 8 cups of water, parang 1 whole mug na espresso iniinom namin...

Super mega palpitation, heartrate was erratic, head was spinning, couldn't breathe well, peeing every 5mins... hehe scary.

I don't advice you get it from GNC.Unless you are rich, that wouldn't be a problem.Even with their 20% discount it's still expensive.Best place to get it is either from CASH and CARRY or check out van wilders add.I think he matches the price I mentioned.I bought mine from Cash and Carry.

Thanks for editing my previous post theveed.Got mine from Cash and Carry.
THAT'S the website I was going to mention where an update of the top 5 best
seller whey protein is posted.I noticed the top 5 changing ocassionally, but with ON
(OPTIMUM NUTRITION)always emerging as number 1.

Designer whey sometimes makes it to the top 3,with nitro tech sometimes on the top 5,considering it (nitro tech) being expensive.

hi guys!

im using Designer Whey and i started taking it last week lang (dec.6). Before kasi i took ON whey and i enjoyed the benefits i gained. (that was summer pa) and then now, my bro-in-law bought it for me from the states kahit hindi ko naman pinabili dahil 10lb ON pinabili ko at met-rx micronized creatine. he ended up buying celltech 4lbs and that designer.

i take two scoops immediately after workout and 1 before sleeping. well. since 1 week ko pa lang ginagamit, malamang wala pa kong "gains" na makukuha diba? that's asking too much. pero ok lang ba na 2 scoops? kasi if ON sana yun, 1 scoop will do (23 grams of protein) pero since 18 grams lang per scoop ang DW, i take 2 scoops.

oh yah, maganda bang combination ang DW and celltech? hindi ko pa ginagamit celltech dahil baka next year ko na gamitin yun. Pero question about celltech. hindi ko kasi talaga alam kung maniniwala ako or hype lang talaga, pero kailangan ba 8 weeks minimum mag-take ng celltech for "optimum results"? eh 20 servings lang yun eh. i plan on taking it immediately after workout (next year pa to ha!) and then 30-45 mins after, ON whey naman. is that good? will i experience benefits from celltech kahit 4 lbs lang?

sabi kasi sakin, i only take celltech right after workout (not do the loading phase anymore) and then i take regular creatine (most probably AST micronized creatine) on non-workout days. MWF ako nagbubuhat so TTh ako AST. ok lang ba yun?

sorry medyo wala sa topic tanong ko about celltech pero confused pa rin ako until now. really don't know if maniniwala ako sa "minimum of 8 weeks for optimum results" or hinde...please please!!!

thanks guys!!!

jadrobe,

subjective kasi ang celltech. Athough I believe that it's overhyped. You can make your own celltech (Sorry for starting to sound like a broken record theveed) and for a lot cheaper. buy a dextrose and mix it with your creatine drink.

Here's what I do. Mix Gatorade powder( gatorade powder contains dextrose and a great source of carb 5%) with water and drink my AST Micronized orally. theveed takes the creatine orally as well. I read from one of the golden article, which theveed collects, that taking the creatine orally is better than mixing it with liquid.

celltech contains 75grams of dextrose ( recommended dosage to spike insulin to diabetes patients ) which is an equivalent of 5 Tbsp of gatorade powder.

As far as 8-week dosage, para ding loading phase nya yata ito. or maybe it would take 8-weeks for it to actually work. Never had celltech, I suggest you follow the recommended dosage.

What do you know? I gained 2 kilos since last Sunday  (Dec 5) after taking Designer whey and seriously working out every other day. I'd say that's impossible myself but there it is. I'm the fast metabolism type. Naubos ang 2lbs in 10 days (I took too much the first few days, and that explains the stomach aches. Now I know). I started taking creatine last Friday, too, at calculated amounts. Geez I feel great. But MUCH work has yet to be done. I'm a very long way from my goal.

Btw, just in case anyone wants to get the right reading on the weighing scale, check your weight in the morning when u get out of bed, when your stomach is empty.
