wrist straps

Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone could refer me to a site ( i searched) or teach me how to use wrist straps.  My grip fails on exercises like shrugs or chin ups, i bought wrist staps but don't know how to use them.  I tried looping them but it doesn't feel right.  None of my friends know how to use them either.  Please help.

strap-on lang po yun... or kung walang velcro, di-tali po yun. anong klase ba wrist-straps mo? medyo ingat lang kasi baka madali wrist mo niya, mapunta diyan yun pressure...

My wrist straps are yun parang loop or noose.  I know the loop goes around my wrist and the remaining strap goes around the barbell or dumbell but I don't seem to get it right and may slack pa rin so the weight is carried by my grip anyway.  I know i'm doing something wrong.

i think tama lang yun... hindi pwedeng wrist ang gamitin mo para magbuhat. masisira yan. dapat wala sa wrist ang pressure. sa grip talaga. for safety measure lang ang wrist straps, in case mabitawan mo.

BUMP...

wrap the other end opposite the direction that your fingers are going. E.g. if you're doing an overhand grip, wrap the strap under the bar going towards you. If you're doing an underhand grip, wrap the strap over the bar going towards you.
